I want to remind you again that there is a issue going on with Coldcard wallets

If you used a Coldcard device to generate your seed phrase for your Bitcoin, you must take action ASAP or you lose risking your coins. Move your Bitcoin to a different device or a hot wallet. Your Bitcoin is at risk of being stolen. Don't delay this - people have lost 1+ BTC from this hack.

Don't leave this to chance. Your Bitcoin could be at risk. You must do something as soon as possible. This issue will be ongoing for a very long time. Unless you take action it will not be resolved.

I'm going to try to explain the issue as simply as possible:

Let's think of creating a private key like picking a number.

If I told you to pick 1 number between 1 and 10...

The chances of you guessing the right number are much higher than...

If I told you to pick a number between 1 and 7383848839374749399374839938484748837483939200284748949588492019747483975920287594874958849874738928749499100102994849494854939759307940274.

This is the same thing that happened with the random number generator in Coldcard devices. Coldcards were basically generating seed phrases based on a very small pool of total possible seed phrases, compared to what was possible. This is essentially what "their seed phrases didn't use enough entropy" means.

Coldcard's random number generator was picking one combination of 40 characters out of ~1 trillion. It would take a computer twelve days to come up with every single combination of 40 characters if it can come up with 1,000,000/second.

When you roll dice 100x you are creating a seed phrase with ~258 bits of entropy. You're picking a private key out of a much bigger pool of numbers. The chances of somebody guessing your private key if it has more entropy are much lower. The bigger the total pool of numbers, the more entropy.

If you roll a dice 100x, you're basically picking one combination of results, and the number of possible results you're picking from is 78 characters long (eg. 1/ 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 possible options). It would take the same computer trillions of years to find every combination of results if the total number of combinations is 78 characters long.

My recommendation from here would be to move your Bitcoin. Don't leave it on a Coldcard device UNLESS YOU KNOW you generated your seed using 100+ dice rolls.

Move your Bitcoin ASAP because more wallets are being attacked every hour.

OVER 500 BITCOIN STOLEN DUE TO AN EXPLOIT

It's not.

There are multiple paths you can take, and the action of buying Bitcoin sits somewhere in the middle of every path, not at the beginning.

In the past, I’ve worked with 350+ people to answer their general questions about Bitcoin. Now I’m working with students in the Bitcoin Retirement Accelerator, a structured program that can help you retire 10+ years earlier. Here's the whole path, from start to finish:

STAGE 1 - Fix your foundation

You can't accumulate anything when you have a poor mindset and you have no idea where your money is going. Before you buy any Bitcoin, you need to focus on your cash flow and net worth. Can you pay for your short term needs? Do you have an emergency fund set up? Have you paid off all your high-interest debt? Do you have a clear number for how much you can save/investment each month?

Action Items: Build a budget, figure out your net worth, and set some goals for the future. Where do you want to be in the next month? What about 10 years from now?

STAGE 2 - Build the accumulation engine

This is where most people start, and they make mistakes. Their foundation isn't built yet. You shouldn't build on sand. Your goal should be to design a system that runs whether you're paying attention or not. The system is boring, and that’s exactly why it works - anyone can replicate it!

Action Items: Figure out what Bitcoin is, understand why it's better than stocks and real estate, and learn the mechanics behind what makes the whole thing work.

STAGE 3 - Take self-custody

Not your keys, not your coins. This is the step people avoid because it feels technical, but it's the one that matters most.

Action Items: Get a cold wallet (I recommend Coldcard), learn how to use it, and transfer your Bitcoin into it. This is where most people make mistakes.

STAGE 4 - Turn your Bitcoin stack into an infinite fiat machine

Here's the part nobody tells you at the start: You don't have to sell your Bitcoin to live off of your Bitcoin! You can borrow against it to fund your lifestyle, or to buy more assets that will provide cash flow to fund your lifestyle. If you don't sell, you never pay taxes. The wealthy have done this with real estate and stocks for decades. Bitcoin does it better.

Action Items: Learn how Bitcoin lending works, borrow against your Bitcoin, make sure you never get liquidated, buy assets that give you positive cash flow.

If you go down this path, you'll end up with your finances in order, you'll take real ownership of the best asset in the world, and you'll be able to borrow against it so you never have to sell.

Most people get stuck at Stage 2 forever because no one showed them the whole path. Nobody told them about their mindset. They start at the wrong stage. They still have beliefs like “debt is a bad thing” or “currency is scarce,” and this holds them back from ever being able to build wealth.
